Negative ▪ guarded. ▪ indecisive. ▪ spendthrift. ▪ pessimistic. ▪ secretive. ▪ insensitive. ▪ capricious. ▪ impulsive. Likes ▪ animangas. ▪ dating sims. ▪ mechandise. ▪ red velvet cake. ▪ cosplays. ▪ sewing. ▪ fried tofu. ▪ kittens. Dislikes ▪ loud noises. ▪ talking. ▪ egg yolks. ▪ swimming. ▪ being alone. ▪ dull colors. ▪ big monsters. ▪ getting lost. Ambition ▪ to some day get enough money to purchase all of the anime merchandise for herself. ▪ to get enough research about the humans to protect her 'people'. Secrets ▪ valen is definitely not a human in the slightest. in complete honesty, she is the product of two shapeshifters. ▪ she lives quite literally inside of a tree. she found an old, hollowed out log and sleeps there. she doesn't mind it but doesn't exactly tell anyone either. Strengths ▪ she is rather adept at analyizing situations and figuring out just exactly what has happened without a word even being spoken to her about it. ▪ she reads rather quickly. it helps her get through her manga and video games just a little bit faster than usual. Fears ▪ she is afraid of being found out more than anything in the world. she's heard things about how humans are a little too interested in examining people outside of their species. ▪ the idea of rejection terrifies her more than anything else in the world. she received it once (in the most dramatic of ways) and she has no intentions of getting that feeling again. History/Other Going back to even her very first memory, Valen has always been alone. Born to a pair of feline shapeshifters, she was abandoned early on in her childhood due to her being the runt of the litter. They had no such time to take care of a child that could not keep up with them. Left in the dead of the night, Valencia was left to care for herself. But what could a child - at the mere age of two - do to protect herself from the dangers that lurked in the forest? Answer was? She couldn't. For a time, Valencia separated herself from the forest and wandered through the streets in the tiny town of Gravity Falls. People fed her and on the occasion would take care of her. She hadn't thought much of it at the time, thinking that the people were there to help her. Support her. Protect her in the way that her parents had failed to do. Around the age of eight however, she began to notice something of a change in the humans that thrived in the little town. They were becoming different. They no longer tried to care for her, but instead shooed her away. As if she were some annoyance rather than anything else in the world. And it was at that time that Valen decided it was time for her to return to the forest where she belonged. Where she was meant to be. She spent the remainder of her childhood in the forest, occasionally running into the stray human every so often as well as the stray monster. Sometimes, they would take pity on her and leave her be. Sometimes not. That was how life was. And that was what she had accepted. At least until the humans began to interfere with the lives of all the creatures that thrived in the forest. There were humans going around with others in hard hats and examining the area. There were buildings in places that there shouldn't have been. Digging and drilling into the land, pulling away things that were necessary for some species to live. It was then that she decided it was time for her to intervene in the humans' lives as they did their own. Upon being elected to gather research, Valencia was sent into the eye of the storm. She had been into Gravity Falls once upon a time. Naturally, she would have known how they behaved in such a society? How wrong she was. Upon assuming a human form and procuring clothes to cover herself with (as she learned had been necessary), she arrived in Gravity Falls in order to obtain some research on the things that had been occurring in the recent. Unfortunately for her, things never seemed to go her way. And it wasn't before long that she integrated herself into the society that she got distracted by a strange thing called 'anime' and immersed herself completely. It became her one and only obsession. Although she claims it more or less as 'research' of human entertainment. She continues to go back and forth between the forest and the town, sometimes carrying research and sometimes not. She sees nothing wrong with the way that she lives although she's becoming increasingly aware that she belongs in neither place. Not the human filled town of Gravity Falls. Not the forest where she had been born. She's merely stuck in the middle, clueless as to where she belongs. And where her true loyalties lie. To the people that took care of her or to the people that rejected her. Black and white. Two extremes that she can't seem to differentiate anymore.
