History/Other Dawn Johnston has lived in Gravity Falls her whole life. She is an only child to Marissa and Jakob Johnston. Her father died in a plane crash when he went to North Carolina for business. Dawn was only around seven months old when her father passed away so her mother raised her. Her mother was a bit of a hippy and liked to do things the old fashioned way. She ended up taking up a lot of her mother’s habits, which is a good thing. Dawn was a bit of an awkward kid when she was younger since she was still discovering herself at the time. She wore mismatched clothes and hair bows up until she reached her sixth birthday. She began to get into more settled clothing and loved to wear skirts. She got her first kiss when she was about ten when she on the playground with one of her male friends. It was his last day in Gravity Falls so she sort of pecked him on the lips as a goodbye present. Dawn broke her arm during her seventh grade year. It made her a bit more self-conscious since she was already an outcast and getting a cast on her arm made her stand out more. It really hit her in her seventh grade year that she was an outcast. She began to get more involved and changed her style quite a lot. She began to become more comfortable with herself as she got older. Her mother got engaged when she was fourteen to a man that she met when she away on vacation up north. Dawn doesn’t like the man that much and avoids him at all costs. She began to spend more time outside away from her house. She also began to notice that there were some strange things going at night in town. She tried to explore one night but got stopped by one of her friends. She ended up going to a party so she never discovered what was out there. When she reached the age sixteen her mother got married to the good for nothing man. She also got a job as a waitress so she didn’t have to spend time at home. She is rarely home nowadays. She just thinks it’s best to spend most of her day out and sleep a few hours and repeat her day over the next day. Now that it is summer in Gravity Falls she is determined to figure out what is in the dark if she doesn’t get scared.
