Well, the park had been peaceful.... until Barnaby came along. He quickly ran in his odd gait to the old Circle Park, new and untouched in his eyes. Of course, it was a slightly foggy morning and most of the sleepy residents of Gravity Falls didn't wake up this early on the weekends. So the park was empty, free for the taking. And Barnaby was about to waste all of his time, on fun.
The silly people of this town just don't appreciate morning dew, and how pleasant it is to have it splash on your furry litt- wait, only I have furry legs. So... I guess that I'm wrong about that one. Never mind that. Barnaby, unable to walk like a normal human because of the way his legs work (quite similar to a goat's, but on a short, dark haired kid in a beanie), looked the part of a fool as he traipsed around the old swings and monkey-bars.
Barnaby had been so serious lately. And serious was never fun! Human schooling was hard, but the gods had gifted him with a knack for picking up things at an incredible rate. After the school days, he took the train back and tried to do his homework. Between that and investigating the rumblings, he hadn't any time to just let go.
That was about to change today.
"There's a see-saw? SCORE!" After pumping his arm in a celebratory manner he had observed some students do, Barnaby ran over and climbed on the device. After a moment to make sure his beanie covered the tiny nubs of horns on his head, He pushed off with his fake human feet. He was up! And then he was down. I think I need another person....
Just in coincidence, the figure of a person could be seen through the fog. That was good enough for Barnaby, so he jumped off of the see-saw and hobbled over to the person. "Hey! Hey! Do you wanna help me out with something real quick? It'll just be like five minutes... come on, it'll be fun!" You could say that Barnaby didn't understand all of the human world yet, or he would have been a bit more reserved and cautious.

If she were back home she would be causing havoc by now. She didn’t like the fact at how quiet the town was compared to her big city. She also didn’t like how the town gave her the creeps, which normally she never got. There was just something different with this town and she couldn’t figure out what. She wrapped her scarf around her neck as she walked out of her house for her daily walk. There was a lot to look and admire in the small town so she acquired a daily walk. She let out a yawn as she pulled her long blue hair up into a ponytail. She didn’t like it when girls had their hair down when they wore scarves. It was just one of her many pet peeves she developed over the years. She decided she would go to Circle Park just because she felt like it. She didn’t have many friends around town so she spent a lot of her time alone. She knew not many people went to the park at this time of the day so she should be good or so she thought.
She arrived at the park to see a male around her age on the seesaw. He appeared confused on how it worked. There has to be two people on the seesaw for it to work properly. She stood there as she watched him. She had spaced out a bit because the male was now in front of her. She was confused on what was going on as he began to talk. She stood there in confusion as she tried to gather her words. She normally didn’t have people coming up to her. It was a new experience for her and now the male wanted her to ride on the seesaw with him. She just couldn’t say no because he seemed to really enjoy it and wanted someone to go on it with him. She walked over to the seesaw and got on one side. It has been a long time since she has actually been on a seesaw since the parks where she was from were just parks. They didn’t have any extreme playground like most do.
“It seems like you have never been on a seesaw before mate. It has been a long while since I have been on one so don’t laugh.” She waited for the other male to get on the other side so they could have fun on the strange contraption. She knew her best friend would probably get a kick out of her right now since she looked like a little kid with blue hair. It didn't matter if they wanted to help or not, there would be more willing people to come along. New faces were always a joy though. Each one created for a specific purpose, each heart going through a myriad of emotions. Humans, though kind of depressing, were still wondrous creatures. The females didn't have hairy legs... now that was strange. Once Barnaby had asked one why, and they just gave him a weird stare. Oh well.
The girl, shorter than him, didn't seem to really understand what he was asking. That was a shame. Barnaby both wanted to hug her for it and be saddened. Instead, he opened his mouth to reply to the girl, bouncing on his heels, but she was on the move. Whoa! Where is she going? Di- She's going to the see saw? But I didn't even tell her what I wanted help on! Maybe she likes those things... or maybe she saw me be a complete fail on them! Oh no, what if I blew my cover, what if I'll have to relocate and get plastic surgery an-, but the sudden wind roaming across the park cut Barnaby's frantic thoughts off.
The gods want me to go forward with this. I can feel it in my hooves.
So Barnaby stumbled forward, following the girl as she sat down on the wooden plank. What, never been on a see-saw? Barnaby cross his arms like he'd seen several teens in Gravity Falls do. "What? I HAVE been on a see-saw before! It's a classic part of the mortal childhood culture!" But the little smile tugging at his lips blew out of proportion, so he gave a good chuckle and sat down opposite of the girl, feel the weight shift on something he learned was called the fulcrum.
"Laugh, why would I laugh?! You haven't done anything to require noises of humor yet! Just wait 'til you see me on the darned thing...unless... you have already. Uhm, err...." Barnaby rubbed the back of his head. He had solved the problem of needing a second person, but he still didn't know how to work the thing. Did they both call out a chant, or sing a song?
"What... uhm... how do we start the thing? I can sing a nice little folk song if you want me to... does that start these things?"
