The first being his biological parents, who he doesn't remember. He knows nothing about them, except that they put him up for adoption when he was merely a child. The reasons why are also unknown. Either way he ended up the first child of the Freeman family, who thought they couldn't conceive. He was lucky in the sense that his adoptive parents had met at work, which happened to be the Wells Fargo headquarters in San Francisco. Both of them were high up in there respective careers, meaning that he was taken into a family of extreme affluence. While his parents thought that they couldn't conceive, the reality turned out to be rather different. It wasn't long, in fact Ted was only two, when another kid joined him, the only difference being that she was their biological daughter. Ted now had a younger sister. In hindsight, one could see the risk of Ted being labelled as inferior to his "sister" in the eyes of his parents due to the circumstances. In reality this wasn't the case. In fact they were both spoiled rotten quite equally. The kids grew up in San Francisco accustomed to getting what they wanted. The long hours of their parents works meant that there younger years were spent in the company of hired help, who became the unfortunate victims of the kids. mischievous nature. Despite the differences in interests, with Ted delving into computers, games and general tech while his sister focused on Fashion and music, they were still each others closest friend, especially in their younger years. When it came to making friends, he had always struggled. Of course the kids were attracted to all the cool new toys and such that he could afford, but that novelty soon wore off. He frequently messed up friendships by saying the wrong thing or forgetting important stuff. The problem being his ADHD, which was apparent from about five years of age. It took time, and mistake were made, but in the end he became somewhat popular. His parents weren't complete pushovers, and told their children that their life of luxury came at a price. That being a high standard of performance at school. As the years went on and on, this became increasingly enforced. It was somewhat annoying, but they eventually gave up protesting when something was taken from them after bad results. Life became easier when they did some studying. Ted's social life took a harder hit than his sister's. He became obsessed with his hobby of messing with computers and almost became a recluse during his mid teens. His mid teens were extremely influential on his life. It was at this time that his parents chose to tell him of his "origins" as they called it. The fact that he was adopted was hard to take in, and caused some terrible bursts of anger as he dealt with it. He elected to tell no one, not even his sister, something his parents promised to do as well. He didn't know if he was being stupid or over reacting, but he felt a little embarrassed about being adopted Right now, after graduating High school at eighteen, Ted is taking a gap year before applying to College. Something his father has told him with will be a guarantee success, due to his good results and the fact that his father his good friends with a couple of professors at the college he went to. He was looking forward to spending the gap year on the beaches of California, but his parents decided to throw a spanner in the works. You see, his father had retired. He was in his mid-forties which was relatively young, but with the salary he was on and some of the bonuses he received, his pension was ridiculous. Besides the stress of his job had aged him so that he looked at least seven years older than he actually was. With the need to work becoming less and less important, Ted's parents decided that they want to retreat to somewhere quieter. Somewhere like Gravity Falls, the hometown of his father's uncle. His dad spent many summers here and had a sever soft spot for the place. With the arrangements for his mothers transfer to a bank only a hour and a half drive from the town, the deal was practically done. Neither of the children were impressed. The move wasn't well received at all. Ted's sister was the primary objector, while Ted's full backing. Sure the house they'd picked was larger than the current one, but there was nothing there. The weather was rubbish compared to California. To the kids the place seem almost backwards. It was no better when they got there. A few weeks in and Ted applied for a job at the arcade, more out of sheer boredom than anything. Getting used to this place was seemingly impossible. Recently he's become more of a grease monkey, taking more of an interest in the mechanics of cars, after getting a second hand BMW Z4 Roadster for his eighteenth birthday.
